Mr. Paik is a Senior Geotechnical Engineer at GeoPro. Mr. Paik has 25 years of professional experience on a wide variety of Geotechnical Engineering and Construction projects, . Mr. Paik holds a doctorate (PhD.) degree in geotechnical engineering, a M.S degree in Geotechnical Engineering, and a B.S. degree in Agricultural Engineering. Mr. Paik is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Maryland and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Mr. Paik is an approved Special Inspector of Record in the counties of Loudoun and Prince William, Virginia. Mr. Paik’s wide range of specialties include slope stability monitoring and analysis, retaining wall design, stormwater and dam design and inspection, deep foundations, and karst geotechnical. Mr. Paik has published in industry journals on the subjects of pile load testing and dilatometer testing (DMT).

Mr. Pournaki manages GeoPro’s soil and concrete laboratory at our office in Chantilly, Virginia.
Mr. Pournaki holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and a M.S. degree in Engineering Management background with over 9 years of professional materials testing experience. Mr. Pournaki holds several current certifications including ACI Concrete Level I, WACEL Soil Lab, WACEL Concrete Lab, WACEL Aggregate, and Troxler Nuclear Gauge Safety and Hazmat Certification. Mr. Pournaki is responsible for all laboratory analysis of soil and concrete specimens. He is responsible for managing all laboratory functions including equipment calibrations temperature monitoring, inventory and equipment repair and all laboratory accreditation requirements. Mr. Pournaki is proficient in MS Office software and IT. Mr. Pournaki has been with GeoPro since January 2016.

Mr. Houngbeke manages GeoPro’s Field Services Department. He has over 15 years of engineering and materials testing experience. Mr. Houngbeke holds B.S. degrees in Physics and Education. Mr. Houngbecke’s certifications include CETCO Water Proofing, WACEL Fire Proofing, VDOT Concrete Field, VDOT Sols and Aggregate, and VDOT Asphalt Field. He has participated in hundreds of projects in the residential sector, transportation infrastructure sector, including Dulles Metrorail, commercial sector, industrial sector, and public sectors. Mr. Houngbeke’s roles include field manager and senior inspector on dozens of large data center and warehouse construction projects. His responsibilities also include hiring, training, scheduling and supervising GeoPro’s team of field technicians and client-owner-contractor interaction. His inspection expertise include shallow and deep foundation systems, monitoring and testing of concrete placement, soil and crushed stone sampling and compaction testing, density testing of construction material, post-tension monitoring, bridge inspections, micropile and GeoPier system inspection and verification, pile driving monitoring, and structure steel inspections along with origination and review of daily field reports.
